About Continuum:

Continuum Movement, largely influenced by Afro-Haitian dance, is a rich and unique practice that summons the fluids of the body to move like water, resulting in spontaneous, intelligent, exploratory, deeply nourishing movement. It uses breath, sound and somatics to invite us into a state where consciousness becomes embodied and not separate from the biosphere... where spiral movements become second nature. The effects of this practice reach deep and wide as fluidity, freedom and connection are infused into all corners of life.

Developed by dancer and teacher, Emilie Conrad in the 1960's after returning to the U.S. from a five-year stay in Haiti, Continuum was largely inspired by the fluid movement of the dance and prayer of the Afro-Haitian culture. In thanks and acknowledgement, 10% of workshop proceeds will go to Fann Saj, a Haitian-led nonprofit working to nourish communities across the African Diaspora.

We are privileged to have Continuum Movement teacher, artist and filmmaker, Susanna Knittel, to teach this series. Susanna is a long time friend and mentor of Erin’s and her instruction in Continuum Movement has profoundly influenced Erin’s life, healing journey, relationship to her body, and her somatic healing practice. If you've been in somatic healing sessions with Erin then you've already experienced Continuum indirectly. Now you can get it straight from her source! No experience necessary. All are welcome.
