healing the womb through vaginal steam.

The practice of steaming the pelvic area spans across millenniums, cultures and genders. It has especially been used by women throughout history to heal and cleanse the vagina and womb. By simply sitting over gentle herbal steam, healing plant properties are carried through the tissue into the bloodstream. From relief from physical symptoms, to greater emotional connection with yourself, steaming can offer deep healing and nourishment. I currently offer virtual steaming consults with somatic meditation and a custom steam plan unique to your body.

more about steaming

Vaginal steaming frees physical and emotional blockages and create relaxation and movement in the entire womb area as healing plant properties are circulated to the tissue and absorbed into the bloodstream. Those who steam can experience cycle regulation, relief from cramps and pain, clearing of infections, cysts and fibroids, increased libido and fertility, reduced endometriosis symptoms, accelerated postpartum recovery and more.

Emotionally and spiritually, steaming is a powerful way to tune in and connect with the pelvic area. We often unconsciously disconnect and/or hold tension in this area due to stressful lifestyles that stifle our creative life energy, as well as sexual trauma and abuse, medical trauma and sexual shaming. Steaming allows us the time and space to support ourselves to release constriction and enter into coherence.

lineage

Steaming has been carried on and revived mainly by Black and Indigenous women, whom we honor and thank for sharing their wisdom. Although steaming has ancient roots in all parts of the world, if it were not for the generosity of these women, I would not have learned this practice to share with you. I studied vaginal steaming at the Peristeam Hydrotherapy Institute with activist and teacher Keli Garza, creator of Steamy Chick. Body of Water gives back 10% of profit from steam sessions toward scholarships for BIPOC who wish to study to become steam practitioners.
